The Refugio Bobcats and the Ganado Indians squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Refugio Bobcats had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Indians 41-12. Refugio's loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Ganado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Holt out in front who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Holt was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Another player making a difference was Bryce Ullman, who threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes.
Refugio's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Ganado, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Refugio does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ganado will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Timpson at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Timpson's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
