It was a good run, but the Evergreen Lutheran Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak dating back to last season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-19 loss at the hands of Crosspoint. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Evergreen Lutheran has scored all season.
Crosspoint found their leader in underclassman Momoyo Iwata, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Iwata hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Halle Kuske, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Evergreen Lutheran's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Crosspoint, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Evergreen Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Evergreen Lutheran is ranked 106th). As for Crosspoint, they will head out on the road to face off against Summit Classical Christian School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Summit Classical Christian School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
