The Fairwinds Christian Knights came into Tuesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Concord Christian Academy with a 30-25 victory on Tuesday. For Fairwinds Christian, this counts as revenge for the 32-26 defeat Concord Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Fairwinds Christian found their leader in underclassman Gabby Johnson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Concord Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Aubrey Collison scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Collison pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Fairwinds Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Concord Christian Academy, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairwinds Christian and Greenwood Mennonite will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greenwood Mennonite will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Fairwinds Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Concord Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Concord Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
