The South Harrison Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 52-38 bruising from Braxton County. South Harrison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Braxton County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Hunt, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Hunt has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Toler, who scored 13 points.
South Harrison's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Braxton County, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10.
South Harrison's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. One thing working in Liberty's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Braxton County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Doddridge County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
