Baseball Recap: Arvada Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Arvada had won four straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 8-4 to make it five. They walked away with a 15-12 win over the Middle Park Panthers. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Arvada got a massive performance out of Cameron Henderson, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Henderson has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Aaron Najera-Ledezma was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Arvada kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

As for Middle Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

On Middle Park's side, Diogui Laynes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Joseph Gallegos, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arvada will face off against Elizabeth at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Middle Park, they will be playing at home against Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluedevils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
