The Miramonte Matadors will square off against the Moreau Catholic Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Moreau Catholic will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Miramonte extended their winning streak to five on Monday. The Matadors never let San Lorenzo get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Matadors have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Abby Warren made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Lucy Daoust was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Avery Haynes, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.
Miramonte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 12.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moreau Catholic). They blew past Mission San Jose 11-0 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Like Miramonte, Moreau Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player: Yazlin Rodriguez. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That hit was Rodriguez's first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Moreau Catholic got a massive performance out of Lexi Mejia, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Sienna Rios was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Miramonte's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Moreau Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Miramonte hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Moreau Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Miramonte might still be hurting after the 18-8 defeat they got from Moreau Catholic in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. Will the Matadors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
