The Batavia Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Indian Hill Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Batavia's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Wilmington 9-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Hurricane recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Derek Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Batavia got a big performance out of Mason Patrick, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Patrick a new career-high in hits (three). Brayden Schmittou was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Batavia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Indian Hill made easy work of Finneytown on Wednesday and carried off a 17-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.
Griffin Adams looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Jim Liebel was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brady Drost, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Batavia's record now sits at 9-1. As for Indian Hill, their record is now 5-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Batavia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Indian Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Batavia came out on top in a nail-biter against Indian Hill when the teams last played back in May of 2022, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
