Valliant waltzed into their matchup  on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with  a   13-8  victory over the Hugo Buffaloes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  11-3  last Monday.
 Landyn Howard made a splash no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Brayden Jones, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April of 2024.  Jakobi Newsome also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Valliant's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Hugo,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 9-17.
 Coming up, Valliant will face off against Tishomingo at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Hugo, they will head out on the road to  take on  De Queen  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
