Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Tree of Life Christian Trojans

The Mt. Gilead Indians will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Tree of Life Christian Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mt. Gilead has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Tree of Life Christian will arrive with three straight victories.

Last Friday, Mt. Gilead ended up a good deal behind East Knox and lost 42-25.

Mt. Gilead's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Faith White, who posted 13 points and five steals, and Kendall Neal, who had seven points and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, White is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Meanwhile, Tree of Life Christian was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Cristo Rey 51-18. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 33 points or more this season.

Tree of Life Christian pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.3 points per game. As for Mt. Gilead, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Mt. Gilead didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Tree of Life Christian in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Gilead since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
