In what's become a running theme this season, the Baldwin Braves gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by West Laurens at home to the tune of 91-49. The victory was familiar territory for Baldwin who now have eight in a row.
Baldwin had a senior duo take command as Tremarius Lawrence scored 26 points along with six rebounds and five steals and Isaiah Dennis scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Lawrence has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karez Demory, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
West Laurens' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rj Whipple, who scored 11 points. Dorian Watkins was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds.
Baldwin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season. As for West Laurens, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
Baldwin will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Swainsboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Braves are ranked 28th). West Laurens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
