The Otsego Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-32 to Elmwood. Otsego has struggled against the Royals recently, as their game on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jocelyn Cornell, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Cornell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.
Otsego struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Otsego's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for Elmwood, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-14.
Otsego will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elmwood, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m.
