Enloe hasn't had much luck against Middle Creek recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Enloe Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Middle Creek Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Enloe 3.4, Middle Creek 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Middle Creek will be up against a hot Enloe team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Enloe came out on top against Hillside by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday.
William ?Will? Modlin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Modlin was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other pitching news, Cole Thomas tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.
Back at the plate, Elijah ?Eli? Ferguson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Dylan Hazen, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Middle Creek sidestepped Apex Friendship for a 3-2 win. The three-run effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Middle Creek also got a great performance from Ryan Morris as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Tobin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that he hit this season.
The victory made it two in a row for Middle Creek and bumps their season record up to 5-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Enloe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Enloe suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Middle Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Enloe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
