Willcox waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Miami Vandals get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Give the Cowboys' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Hattie Macumber was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Gloria Encinas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Jaqueline Ramirez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Willcox was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami only posted a batting average of .000.

Willcox's record is now 20-6. As for Miami, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willcox will square off against Bisbee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pumas have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.76 runs per game on average), something the Cowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Miami, they will challenge St. John Paul II Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.08 runs per game on average), something the Vandals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
