C District 3 (8 Man) recap October 29, 2013
Cherokee extended the longest winning streak in C District 3 (8 Man) this week by beating Timberlake, 46-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Bluejacket led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Kremlin-Hillsdale. Austin Stoner threw for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 201 yards during the win.
Bluejacket's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Chieftains feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Stoner has thrown for 487 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Pete Mcvay has 14 catches for 328 yards. Stoner also leads the league in rushing with 915 yards.
The most important game in C District 3 (8 Man) this week will be the match up between the Chieftains and the Tigers. Bluejacket enters the contest ranked 23rd in the state, while Timberlake ranks 24th.
Stoner of the Ronnie Simmons' team is just 85 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 67 carries Stoner has put up 915 yards this year.
