Baseball Recap: Harker Has No Trouble Against Westmoor

Harker won the last time they faced Westmoor and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles blew past the Rams 12-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Shaurya Jain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aarav Borthakur was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Powell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Harker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Harker has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Westmoor, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
