Foundation Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Academy at the Lakes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Foundation Christian Academy Panthers challenge Academy at the Lakes Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Foundation Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Foundation Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Seffner Christian and fell 4-3.

Raeghan Ramsey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Ramsey wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Howard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Howard has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Anne Abernathy also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Academy at the Lakes lost 21-5 to Hernando on Wednesday.

Foundation Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Academy at the Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Foundation Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 12-3 loss they got from Academy at the Lakes in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can Foundation Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
