Softball Recap: Gorham Wins Going Away Against Deering

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gorham). They blew past Deering 18-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for Gorham in their matchups with Deering: they've now won eight in a row.

Bella McBrady made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. McBrady was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Terra Rioux, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. Lily Tukey was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Gorham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

The win got Gorham back to even at 2-2. As for Deering, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
