There's no place like home for the LaCrosse Leopards, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 38-32 win over Ness City on Friday. This was payback for LaCrosse, who suffered a 43-30 loss the last time these two teams met.
McKaylee Day was the offensive standout of the game as she scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals. Madison Morgan was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Ness City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashlyn Tillitson, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and two steals, and Angela Tavarez who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Tillitson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played.
Ness City struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
LaCrosse's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. As for Ness City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaCrosse will take on the Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ness City, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Kats at 6:00 p.m. Chase will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Eagles are ranked 178th).
