Chippewa hasn't had much luck against Triway recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chipps will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Thursday, Chippewa came up short against Norwayne and fell 3-1.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 26-28, 25-15, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Triway didn't have quite enough to beat Smithville on Saturday and fell 3-2. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Smithies recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Triway took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Chippewa will have to contain Reagan Underwood as she made an impact in Triway's last game. She had 24 digs and five aces. Underwood is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Manley, who had 14 digs and three aces.
Triway's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Chippewa, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Chippewa has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Triway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 13.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
