The Jordan-Matthews Jets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 59-15 whooping from Lee County. Jordan-Matthews has not had much luck with Lee County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Jordan-Matthews lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reagan Smith. Despite the final result, she scored two points along with 12 rebounds.
Kelyce Mcswain continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lee County, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mcswain has scored at least 25% of Lee County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gillian Garrison, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Jordan-Matthews bumped their record down to 6-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.0 points per game. As for Lee County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.
Jordan-Matthews will be playing in front of their home fans against Seaforth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Seaforth's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Jordan-Matthews' offense will have their work cut out for Jordan-Matthews. Lee County will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Pinecrest at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully Pinecrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
