Basketball Game Preview: Ridgway Demons vs. Telluride Miners

Ridgway is 1-9 against Telluride since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Ridgway Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Telluride Miners at 7:00 p.m. Ridgway has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Ridgway is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 73-56 victory over Dolores on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Demons with their most commanding win of the season.

Henry Deppen was his usual excellent self, going 12 of 18 on his way to 24 points along with six assists and six boards. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Baskfield, who posted 17 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Ridgway was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Telluride can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Dolores by a score of 57-49.

Telluride's win came from a few key players Ridgway will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Langston Silbergeld, who put up 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Nieto, who had nine points.

Telluride picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Ridgway, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5.
