Knott County Central entered their tilt with Breathitt County on Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Bobcats. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly two runs.

Knott County Central pushed their record up to 9-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Breathitt County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Knott County Central will head out on the road to challenge Pikeville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.04 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Breathitt County, they will challenge Magoffin County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
