The Brandon Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Northwest Rankin Cougars, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Brandon snuck past Northwest Rankin with a 47-41 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Brandon.
Brandon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylon Barnes out in front who scored 17 points along with two steals. Barnes has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Nate White was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Brandon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Northwest Rankin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandon will take on Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Brandon is ranked 44th). As for Northwest Rankin, they will be playing at home against Pearl at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pearl has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 325 points over their last five matches.
