The Lake Mills L-Cats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sauk Prairie Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Lake Mills' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Lake Mills pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Lakeside Lutheran. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lake Mills has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Sauk Prairie pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-56 bruising from Mount Horeb. While losing is never fun, Sauk Prairie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Mount Horeb is ranked 47th).
Lake Mills' defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3. As for Sauk Prairie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Lake Mills didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Sauk Prairie when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 77-71 win. Does Lake Mills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sauk Prairie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
