Baseball Recap: Ralston Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ralston made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Blair, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Bears on Thursday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Bryson Sargent made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cade Stix, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Ralston, bringing their record up to 9-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Blair, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ralston is set to challenge their familiar foe Platte Valley at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st. Meanwhile, Blair will face off against rival Skutt Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
