The Cloverleaf Colts will square off against the Norwayne Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cloverleaf will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Ravenna on Friday. The Colts blew past the Ravens 10-2. Considering the Colts' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Aubrey Willig was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Pacey Crow, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Norwayne had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Chipps as they made off with a 13-2 win.
CJ Moore made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Moore was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on MaKenna Heyden, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Maddy Workman was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Norwayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chippewa only posted an OBP of .273.
Cloverleaf's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Norwayne, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cloverleaf has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Norwayne struggles in that department as they've averaged .465. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cloverleaf suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Norwayne when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
