Clair Ferebee was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hallie Mizelle, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jaslene Ethridge was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Lawrence Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rocky Mount Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Harrells Christian Academy on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Like Lawrence Academy, Rocky Mount Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Berkeley Miller. She struck out 19 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Miller has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Rocky Mount Academy let Ryleigh Evans and Bailee Allen run wild. Evans went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Allen scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that Allen snagged this season.
The win got Rocky Mount Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Lawrence Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
