The Brown County Eagles will head out to square off against the Clarksville Generals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Brown County turned things around against Columbus Christian on Thursday. They blew past the Crusaders 23-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Nolan McFall made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Brown County's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-8 when he doesn't). McFall was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brown County got a massive performance out of MJ Griffin, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The Eagles are 2-1 when Griffin posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-8 otherwise. Wyatt Sanders was another key player, going 4-for-5 with five RBI and one run.
Brown County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .732. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Clarksville hadn't done well against Charlestown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Generals walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Pirates.
Like Brown County, Clarksville also got a great game from a two-way player: Jayden Arnold. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Arnold has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Clarksville let Michael Shipley and Martin Campos run wild. Shipley went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Campos went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hawkins, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.
The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Clarksville, their record now sits at 5-9.
