The Jefferson Silver Foxes will face off against the Burges Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Jefferson turned things around against Andress on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Silver Foxes, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Yazmeen De La Paz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. De La Paz was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Elizabella Qui?onez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Luz Ayala, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Andress only posted an OBP of .269.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Burges ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top against Chapin by a score of 13-9. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three contests in a row.
The team relied heavily on Yoselin Chavira, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-6. Kaitlyn Valdiviezo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
Jefferson's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 12-14. As for Burges, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jefferson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .452. However, it's not like Burges struggles in that department as they've averaged .390. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
