Softball Recap: Ledford Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Ledford waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Montgomery Central Timberwolves get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Montgomery Central's batters probably weren't too happy with Leah Leonard, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up a single walk). What's more, Leonard gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Hailey Hoots was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Alana Herrera was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Ledford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montgomery Central only posted an OBP of .062.

Ledford's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Montgomery Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ledford will square off against rival Oak Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ledford 2, Oak Grove 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Montgomery Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Central Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
