The Kimball Knights had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They took down South Oak Cliff 73-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kimball was led to victory by Marri Wickware and Jaylon Dean-vines. Wickware dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Dean-vines scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Dean-vines pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rico Aguilar, who scored 13 points.
Kimball is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for South Oak Cliff, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Kimball will head out on the road to take on Sunset at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sunset will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1248th, while Kimball is ranked 280th). As for South Oak Cliff, they will be playing in front of their home fans against White at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. White is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
