Basketball Recap: Denoris Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead San Jose Prep over Potter's House Christian Blue

San Jose Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Potter's House Christian Blue Lions. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

San Jose Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Denoris Young, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Young a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarri Young-Grant, who posted 19 points and five rebounds.

San Jose Prep now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Potter's House Christian Blue, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.

San Jose Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-63 loss against First Coast on the 9th. As for Potter's House Christian Blue, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-46 defeat against Vine Christian Academy on the 11th.
