After flying high against the Pine Prairie Panthers last Friday, the Plainview Hornets came back down to earth. Plainview was beaten by Oak Hill 94-63 on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Plainview in their matchups with Oak Hill: they've now lost six in a row.
Oak Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brilee Dousay, who almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. Dousay has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Krystina Greene, who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists.
Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Oak Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Plainview will head out on the road to face off against Oberlin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Oberlin is ranked 100th, while Plainview is ranked 125th). Oak Hill will be home for the holidays to greet Peabody at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peabody is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
