Tyler is 9-1 against Cameron since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tyler has three straight victories, Cameron has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Tyler's win against Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Lumberjacks 8-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Izzie Murray and Leah Carroll did most of the damage at the plate: Murray went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Carroll went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Carroll a new career-high in RBI (two). Holly Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tyler kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Cameron came up short against Ravenswood on Tuesday and fell 7-3.
Skye Dobbs was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since April 6th. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Edie Hartley made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Kendra Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Tyler's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Cameron, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Tyler might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from Cameron in their previous matchup on April 6th. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
