Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Dansville

Dansville came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Olivet Eagles 15-1. Considering the Aggies have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddi Carter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Carter was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Gabby Hollon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Moore, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Dansville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Dansville's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Olivet, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Dansville will venture away from home to face off against East Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Aggies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Olivet, they will face off against Maple Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
