The Waldron Mohawks and the Herron Achaeans will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Waldron focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Saturday.
Waldron had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points), and they went ahead and made it three. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 57-40 victory over Southwestern. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Waldron has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waldron to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker Douglas, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Douglas scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Shaw, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Herron was beaten by Horizon Christian 57-27 on Saturday. Herron was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.
The win got Waldron back to even at 3-3. As for Herron, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
