Bishop Neumann has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Yutan Chieftains on Tuesday. Yutan took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Neumann, who comes in off a win.
Bishop Neumann only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point they dealt the Shamrocks on Friday. Bishop Neumann blew past the Shamrocks 65-39. Given Bishop Neumann's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 151st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Yutan was the victim of a rough 54-29 loss at the hands of the Clippers on Saturday. Yutan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bishop Neumann's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Yutan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Bishop Neumann took their victory against the Chieftains when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 51-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Neumann since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
