Softball Recap: Riverside Beats Stone Bridge for Their Third Straight Win

Riverside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Stone Bridge Bulldogs with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Ram, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brooklyn Oliviero made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Oliviero was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Christina Franco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Ashley Bui was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Riverside's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Stone Bridge, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Riverside will challenge rival Lightridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Ram 3.4, the Bolts 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Stone Bridge is set to take on their familiar foe Potomac Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
