It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Saraland Spartans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat McAdory 54-15 at home. Saraland's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Saraland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KJ Lacey led the charge by throwing for 170 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punching in a rushing score. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Williams, who gained 99 total yards and two touchdowns.
Saraland has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.15 points. As for McAdory, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Saraland will head out on the road to face off against Briarwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Briarwood Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Saraland is ranked second). McAdory does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
