The Wheeler Mustangs posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 win over Quanah. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Wheeler has scored all year.
Austin Adkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. Barrett Meadows was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Wheeler pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Quanah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10.
Wheeler will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarendon at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quanah, they will head out on the road to face off against Memphis at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Memphis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
