Eldon lost a heartbreaker the last time they played California, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. The Mustangs never let the Pintos get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The result came thanks to Braden Wrye's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Drew Hinds was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Devin Hardy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Eldon pushed their record up to 16-14 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for California, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
