The Harding County Ranchers put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by New Underwood at home to the tune of 59-10. Harding County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.
Harding County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Verhulst, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Verhulst is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Wendt, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Harding County pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for New Underwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding County will face off against Lemmon at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lemmon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games. As for New Underwood, they will head out on the road to challenge Jones County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
