The West Cabarrus Wolverines will be playing at home against the Palisades Pumas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Mooresville scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, West Cabarrus still came out on top. West Cabarrus skirted past Mooresville 61-59.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 26 to 12 on the offensive boards, a fact Palisades proved on Tuesday. They came out on top against Olympic by a score of 52-43. Given Palisades' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Olympic is ranked 361st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brian Ngo was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Kingston Henry was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
West Cabarrus pushed their record up to 10-12 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Palisades, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
West Cabarrus was able to grind out a solid win over Palisades in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 64-57. Does West Cabarrus have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palisades turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
