St. Mary Central Catholic has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Gibsonburg Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary Central Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Even though St. Paul scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, St. Mary Central Catholic still came out on top. St. Mary Central Catholic took their game against the Flyers 68-58.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Gibsonburg sidestepped the Crimson Streaks for a 38-36 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Gibsonburg has scored all year.
Gibsonburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Wasserman led the charge by scoring eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Hall, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
St. Mary Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Gibsonburg, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
St. Mary Central Catholic lost to the Golden Bears on the road by a decisive 55-41 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can St. Mary Central Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
