After both having extra time off, the Manchester Lancers and the Clover Hill Cavaliers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Clover Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Friday, Manchester was able to grind out a solid win over Ocean Lakes, taking the game 6-1. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Dolphins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Cam Winiarski made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Newsom, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Clover Hill made easy work of J.R. Tucker last Thursday and carried off a 12-2 win.
Madison Hayes and Cayla Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Hayes scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Wright scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those stolen bases were Hayes' first of the season. Paige Marshall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Clover Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as J.R. Tucker only posted an OBP of .286.
Manchester pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Clover Hill, their record now sits at 3-1.
Clover Hill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Manchester has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Clover Hill, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Manchester's sizable advantage in that area, the Cavaliers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Manchester took their victory against Clover Hill in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
