Landmark Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Landmark Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Landmark Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 37 points or more this season. They breezed by Mt. Zion at home to the tune of 76-39.
Landmark Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Saunders out in front who scored 24 points along with 6 steals. The contest was Saunders' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Blake Pollock was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Elite Scholars Academy ended up a good deal behind Savannah Christian on Saturday and lost 62-47. While losing is never fun, Elite Scholars Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Savannah Christian is ranked 52nd).
The losing side was boosted by D?allo Wiley, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Charles-jones, who scored 6 points.
Landmark Christian's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Mt. Zion's loss dropped them down to 0-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's matchup: Landmark Christian have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.7 threes per game. It's a different story for Elite Scholars Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 per game. Given Landmark Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Elite Scholars Academy will need to find a way to close that gap. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
Landmark Christian skirted past Elite Scholars Academy 59-56 in their previous matchup back in February. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Elite Scholars Academy's Mekhi Woods, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Landmark Christian to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
