The Silver Lake Mustangs lost against the Shelton Bulldogs back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Silver Lake ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-32 walloping at the hands of Shelton. Silver Lake has struggled against Shelton recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Silver Lake saw an underclassman step up: Makenna Karr dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Karr has scored all season.
Silver Lake's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Shelton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Lake will take on Giltner at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Giltner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Shelton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harvard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelton is facing Harvard at the right time seeing as Harvard is stuck on a 18-game losing streak.
