The Lindsay Leopards will head out on the road to face off against the Marlow Outlaws at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Lindsay has not done well against Purcell recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lindsay slipped by Purcell 42-41.
Meanwhile, Marlow gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 50-27 margin over Sulphur.
Marlow's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Boyles, who scored 17 points. Mason Holding was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
The victory got Lindsay back to even at 1-1. As for Marlow, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Lindsay didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Marlow when the teams last played back in March, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Marlow's Avrey Payne, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Lindsay to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
