The Westover Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Overhills Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Westover strolled past the Hawks with points to spare, taking the game 59-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Westover.
Westover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rmani Robinson, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Princess Canady was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Overhills scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-19 win over Western Harnett on the road. That 48 point margin sets a new team best for Overhills this season.
It was another big night for Najiha Allen, who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 12 assists, and ten steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more assists the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaiah Mcgee, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six steals.
Westover is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Overhills, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Things could have been worse for Westover, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-29 loss to the Jaguars in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Westover avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
