The Flagler Panthers won the last time they faced the Weldon Valley Warriors, and things went their way on Saturday too. Flagler was the clear victor by a 46-26 margin over Weldon Valley.
Flagler was led to victory by Sydnie Berry and Jaylie Stone. Berry scored 10 points along with 7 steals, while Stone scored 23 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was KaCee Jo Saffer, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Weldon Valley had strong showings from Haylee Nelson, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds, and Skylar Scott, who scored 9 points along with 3 blocks.
The victory got Flagler back to even at 1-1. As for Weldon Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flagler will take on Miami-Yoder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Miami-Yoder focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Saturday. As for Weldon Valley, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Campion Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th.
